这种失落让我开始追问：当人们与土地的关系逐渐疏离，与之相连的记忆与情感应该去向何处？&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; 在黔东南月亮山区的苗寨里，树贯穿了人们的一生，也构成了一套将生命与土地紧密锚定的文化系统。孩子出生时种下“生命树”，祈福时搭建“消灾树”，成家以木为屋，逝者墓前插上“常青树”。树是自然，是信仰，是代际之地。&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; 在过去几年间的反复探访中，我逐渐意识到，这里并非停留在过去。劳动力迁移、山被建为牛塘、木屋倒下，人和土地的关系同样在不断变化中。桥梁、摩托车、水泥建筑，以及被改造的山地景观，早已成为当下生活的一部分，与既有的经验和记忆交织在一起。 &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; 我所关心的并不是变化是否应该发生，而是在这样的变化之中，究竟还有什么能够继续保有其意义。《生命树》并不试图讲述一个关于传统消逝的简单故事，而是想去呈现一种更为复杂的当代处境：记忆、信仰与归属，如何在变化之中不断被重新理解。 &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; 如果树的倒下在某种意义上已不可避免，那当人与土地、与记忆的联结变得脆弱，精神的栖居之所日渐模糊，我们是否仍能记得那棵属于自己的“生命树”？当最后一棵“生命树”倒下时，我们失去的，会是什么？ My childhood memories are closely tied to the trees of my hometown—climbing branches, picking fruit, catching cicadas. Five years ago, the longan tree I knew best was cut down. In the empty space it left behind, I began to ask: as people become increasingly detached from the land, where do the memories and emotions rooted in it go? In Miao villages in the Moon Mountain region of Qiandongnan, trees accompany a person throughout life, forming a cultural system grounded in the land. A “Tree of Life” is planted at birth, a “Tree of Disaster Relief” is erected for protection and blessings, and an “Evergreen Tree” marks a grave. Trees are not only part of nature, but also sacred sites and carriers of intergenerational memory. Through repeated visits to the region over the past two years, I have come to see that contemporary village life cannot be understood through a simple opposition between tradition and modernity. Bridges, motorbikes, concrete buildings, and altered landscapes are not outside interruptions, but part of everyday life as it is lived now. Life here is not frozen in the past; it continues to evolve through labour migration, construction, environmental change, and shifting ways of inhabiting the land. I do not see these transformations as something separate from the community, but as realities already woven into it. What concerns me is not whether change should happen, but what can still remain meaningful within it. Trees of Life does not seek to tell a simple story of disappearing tradition. Instead, it reflects on a more complex contemporary condition, in which memory, belief, and belonging are continuously being renegotiated. If our connection to the land is becoming increasingly fragile, can we still remember the “Tree of Life” that belongs to us? &nbsp;在云南贡山，有一个少数⺠族聚居的村落叫雾里村，这个村落横跨怒江两岸。在怒江的西边仅有六户房屋，剩余的三十多户房屋都处于江东，村民大部分为怒族人，也有少数为藏族和傈僳族。进入江东的雾里村只有两条步道，一条是茶马古道，一条是石梯路，都需要跨过怒江。因此，这里除了步行外，只剩下一种交通方式——摩托车。摩托车跨过老桥，行驶于起伏而蜿蜒的、仅容两人通过的茶马古道后，再进入村里。这条路极为险峻，一边是随时可能落石的悬崖，一边是汹涌奔腾的怒江。骑摩托车的基本都是三十岁左右的青年，摩托车最常用于运输一些重物，例如苞谷、小卖部货品、小型家具等，村里人有运输需求的，都会在群里寻摩托车。我曾想象于如此气势磅礴的怒江边生活的怒族人是否会如怒江般霸气豪爽？事实上，在怒江面前，怒族人反而愈加谨慎内敛，没有什么可与怒江相对抗。&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;这里四周环绕着大山，常年都比较阴湿，夏季日照时间7-8小时，而冬季只有4-5小时。湿气是这里特别重的一个特征，蚊虫极多，满树的桃子等不到成熟便已被蛀透。与大多数地区人们避阳而作的习惯不同，这里的人们基本在太阳晒过来以后才劳作，日落之后才休息，且盛行饮酒，一切皆可作酒。这都是对抗湿气的方式。然而，过度饮酒加以恶劣的环境，造成了这里人们平均寿命的缩短。他们沉默对抗而又难以取胜。&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;雾里村的极大部分人家依旧保留着传统木楞房的民居结构，建房的木头很多都是来自于祖祖辈辈延续了几十年或上百年的，他们以页岩铺在屋顶作为瓦片，屋顶下的阁层用以晾晒谷物，屋身下架空形成围合空间用以饲养家畜。火塘屋是雾里人家中最重要的一个空间，集合厨房和客厅的功能，因为火塘有烟，所以熏得屋子里都是黑的，小小的窗户显得屋内更加昏暗。如今大部分村民家主要是用电饭煲和电磁炉做饭，但每日早上和晚上还是会看到他们的屋顶升起炊烟，或是煮水，或是煮猪食，又或是烤苞谷。升起的烟将湿气、蚊虫赶走，得以保护他们的身体和家。&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;生活在深山峡谷之内，常年云雾缭绕，塑造了雾里村村民内敛而深沉的性格。昏暗的火塘屋内，白烟盘旋的火塘之上，有一种隔世的安宁和踏实感，村民以此形成一种对内心世界的保留和“宗教性的自守”。但是大山与大江是否能隔绝他们免受现代化和信息化的侵袭？面对发展的滞后和资源的不均形成的困境，他们如何自处？是否也曾无力地对抗或试图寻找一种舒服而自得的方式？我能否以一个小小的画框、一张小小的照片，以此窥见他们那些隐藏于心、未被讲述的故事？ 2020年，我休学一直待在老家。那年暑假的大部分傍晚，我都会骑上小电动在村子里一边逛一边拍照，因此与村里的小孩愈发熟悉。看着他们爬树、抓蝉、看大戏（粤剧），我想起了在这个地方我曾有过的一样的童年。这种湿漉漉的、粘乎乎的，伴随着响彻天的蝉鸣蛙叫的夏天，似乎一直没变。
